UFW also provides training and education in filmmaking for students and faculty though courses and workshops. We work closely with Education Abroad Asia with an office at the Prince of Songkla University on the resort island of Phuket, Thailand, and the US-based Study Abroad Journal.

University Filmworks recently looked into the history of SHTM and PolyU to discover: "What Makes a University Great", finding a story of leadership behind one of the highest rated faculties in the world. Like many international education programs and opportunities, the story behind the success of the School and their students was an untold gem in academia.

Why Make Films on International Educational Programs

Study Abroad Journal's research found that international education programing is not well-represented in independent film, documentary and news reporting. This knowledge gap is partly attributed to the fact that the responsible and objective production of film and video is a challenging area of journalism given the technical nature of managing lighting, sound and the camera, especially when in the field in a foreign country.
